How We Choose Our Support Workers

Great Support Starts with Great People:The quality of your support depends on the people providing it. That's why we carefully select, prepare, and support every member of our team before they work independently with participants.

Our Recruitment Process:

Choosing the right support workers starts long before they meet a participant.

Every shortlisted candidate goes through a detailed interview process where we assess more than just their qualifications and previous experience.

We present real-life scenarios they may encounter while supporting participants and explore how they would respond. This helps us understand their communication style, problem-solving skills, empathy, professionalism, and ability to provide person-centred support.

Questions may include scenarios such as:

  • How would you encourage a participant who is feeling anxious about completing a task?
  • How would you respond if a participant refused support but appeared to be putting themselves at risk?
  • How would you build trust with someone you are meeting for the very first time?

We believe these conversations provide a far better understanding of a person's suitability than simply reviewing a resume.

Because great support workers are chosen through thoughtful recruitment, not just qualifications.

Mandatory Checks & Compliance:

Every support worker must meet our compliance requirements before supporting participants.

These include:

NDIS Worker Screening Check

National Police Clearance

Driver's Licence

Registered and insured vehicle (where required)

Current First Aid and CPR

NDIS Orientation Module

Infection Control Training

Medication Management (where required)

Working with Children Check (where required)

Meeting these requirements is the minimum standard we expect before a support worker joins our team.

Support Worker Preparation:

Support Worker Preparation:

Preparation is just as important as recruitment.

Before their first independent shift, every support worker completes a participant-specific orientation where they review your:

  • Support Plan
  • Goals and outcomes
  • Emergency Plan
  • Routines and preferences
  • Risk Assessment
  • Relevant policies and procedures

We believe support workers should feel prepared from day one, not spend their first shift trying to learn everything.

We Never Settle for “Close Enough”:

We don't simply send the next available support worker.

If we don't believe our current team has the right person for you, we'll do our best to recruit someone who is.

Finding the right support worker is more important than simply filling a shift.

Because every participant deserves support that feels right.

Our Commitment to You:

Choosing a disability support provider means trusting someone to become part of your daily life.

We take that responsibility seriously.

Every support worker we introduce has been carefully selected, thoroughly prepared, and supported to provide compassionate, professional, and person-centred support.

Our goal is simple: to give you confidence that the person walking through your door is someone you can trust.
